Sacraments
The sacraments give grace. Grace is a gift of God.
There are Seven Sacraments. They give strength in all the important moments of Christian life.
Baptism
Baptism begins a life-long faith journey, which makes us members of the Church.
Eucharist
Eurcharist brings us together in thanksgiving and celebrating the Eucharist brings us together as community.
At Mass, Jesus feeds us with the Word of God and with His body and blood, sacramentally, in the Eucharist. We remember that Jesus said ‘Do this in memory of me’.
Confirmation
Confirmation celebrates becoming a full member of the Church as we are Called by Name. We understand that Jesus gave us the Holy Spirit to be with us always so we can serve one another and the whole of creation with faith and love.
The Sacrament of Confirmation is available as an annual Deanery celebration for those in Year 8+. The Archdiocesan Sacrament of Confirmation Programme is delivered in every Catholic High School across the Archdiocese of Liverpool.

Healing
Reconciliation
Services for the Sacrament of Reconciliation are arranged throughout the calendar year. Opportunities for individual confession are also made available; please refer to the newsletter for more details, or contact the Church Office.
Anointing of the sick
This is offered to bring the person receiving this Sacrament spiritual, physical, and mental strength. Please note that there are Chaplains and Chaplaincy teams available at hospitals if this Sacrament is required by an in-patient.
Mission
Marriage
Marriage is a lasting commitment of two people to a lifelong partnership of love and life.
There are civil requirements to plan a Church Wedding therefore enquiry to SFX Church must be made at least 6 months in advance before any bookings are confirmed.
Holy orders
Holy orders are when a member of the Church is ordained into priesthood. To find out more about Discerning The Call, please visit the Archdiocese of Liverpool’s Vocation’s page: www.liverpoolcatholic.org.uk/department/vocation
Additional Information
Planning a funeral or memorial service
Arrangements for funerals are firstly arranged with a Funeral Director who will ensure the priest/minister and the family are fully involved in the planning process and booking of the church. Upon the death of a loved one, please contact your chosen Funeral Director and together with them we can help you arrange a meeting to plan the funeral liturgy.
Journey together in faith (RCIA)
The Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA) is a period of instruction that people go through so that they can better understand Catholic beliefs before joining the Church. This is offered to small groups in some parishes, or there may be some preparation delivered on a one-to-one basis. You’re very welcome to contact us to see what we can do for you.
Request a Prayer
Do you have a prayer request?
Please send your prayer requests, which will be remembered at all our masses and services and be assured of our prayers.
*Your prayer request is a sacred trust and will be kept confidential. To help us comply with data protection regulations please refer to any person(s) by their first name only and omit all other identifiable information (i.e., surname, contact details, geographic location, job role etc.).
